Accounting Specialist

Classification: Full-time // Ministry: Finance // Reports to: Executive Director of Finance

Job Summary

Perform accounting and administrative tasks to support operations for the Finance Department..  Position handles confidential material and requires considerable judgment, tact and people skills.

Essential Job Functions

• Responsible for processing all contributions on a weekly/daily basis
• Responsible for contribution record keeping and other various reporting
• Process miscellaneous deposits weekly
• Responsible for tracking all financial aspects of church events (mission trips, ministry events, etc.)
• Assist in monthly reconciliations as needed.
• Assist in writing policies and maintaining compliance.

Minimum Qualifications

• Clearance of criminal background check
• Experience in bookkeeping and cash receipts
• General knowledge of accounting practices
• General computer skills
• Proficient in Outlook, Excel, Word, and other Office applications
• Experience with automated accounting systems

Work Hours

Monday through Thursday -  8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Fridays – 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

All staff members are required to work Easter and Christmas Eve services; the schedule for these services can vary according to the campus needs and the yearly calendar.

Work Environment - Physical Requirements

Position requires bending, stooping and stretching to file, occasional lifting of boxes weighing up to 25 pounds. Work is generally performed indoors, but may involve limited exposure to outdoor weather conditions.
